Frequently Asked Questions

Family Mediation

Where are you based?
We offer in-person mediation at our peaceful rooms in Liverpool city centre, and remote video sessions for families anywhere in the UK.

Do you offer online mediation?
Yes — we provide secure, confidential video mediation. All you need is a quiet space and a stable internet connection.

How long is each session?
Mediation sessions usually last up to 90 minutes, giving enough time for everyone to be heard and for progress to be made without feeling rushed.

What does a session cost?
Each session is £85 per person, or you can book a block of 3 sessions for £480. We’ll discuss the best arrangement during your initial call.

Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes — we offer a free 15-minute telephone call to answer questions and explain how mediation could work for your family.

How do I book a session?
You can book by contacting us through our website, email, or phone. After your consultation, we’ll guide you through the next steps.

Can I choose a male or female mediator?
Yes — we have both male and female mediators and will do our best to match you with someone you feel comfortable with.

What issues do you work with?
We support families with separation, parenting arrangements, financial agreements, communication breakdown, and disputes that may otherwise end up in court.

Is mediation confidential?
Yes. Everything shared is kept confidential, within standard legal guidelines. We’ll explain clearly how this works at your first session.

How many sessions will we need?
It depends on your situation. Some families reach agreement in a few sessions, others may need longer. We’ll review this together as you go.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes — we offer flexible daytime and some evening appointments. Availability depends on the mediator, so let us know what suits you.

Can mediation replace going to court?
In many cases, yes. Courts often encourage families to try mediation first, as it is quicker, less stressful, and more cost-effective.

Is there parking near your Liverpool rooms?
Yes — there are several parking options nearby. We’ll send details once you’re booked in.

Do children take part in mediation?
In some cases, yes — with parental agreement and where it’s appropriate. We’ll guide you through this if it becomes part of your process.

Can I stop mediation at any time?
Yes — mediation is always voluntary. You’re never locked in, and you can choose to pause or end the process at any point.

What happens in the first session?
Your first session is about understanding your situation, explaining how mediation works, and setting ground rules for moving forward.
